Hinds CC

Student Success Center

About

The Student Success Center at Hinds Community College advances student success by providing holistic support that meets diverse students’ needs. We help students build skills, confidence, and persistence in a respectful and responsive learning environment. Our goal is to ensure students feel supported, connected, and empowered to grow.

We offer tutoring, academic coaching, and student success course opportunities designed to meet students where they are. Students also receive personalized mentoring and early, targeted interventions. Through these avenues, as well as with intentional collaboration with faculty and college departments, the SSC strengthens effective learning habits, engagement, and accountability.

We foster this culture of support and continuous improvement for all students and ourselves through data-driven decision making. This approach empowers students to succeed in their courses and complete their programs, ultimately graduating and moving forward toward lifelong learning and meaningful careers.

Mentoring

Hinds cares about supporting our students! We provide free one-on-one mentoring to students through our Wingman program. Hinds faculty and staff members serve as Wingman mentors who support students to stay on track and connect with resources. We support Hinds faculty and staff in being trained on Appreciative Advising for all their interactions with students. Are you interested in having a Wingman mentor? Email SSC@hindscc.edu to let us know or click on QuadC to schedule an appointment!
