About
Our goal is to create a safe and inviting environment for Hinds CC students and staff. Each individual will receive quality mental health services that facilitate personal growth and individual responsibility through social, psychological and academic functioning. We incorporate a holistic approach in an effort to address every aspect of a person’s life. We respect the diversity of each individual, while valuing each one as unique and important. We strive to accept, respect, show compassion and support for each individual that comes through our doors.

Hi, I’m Amber Harris, your Mental Health Counselor serving the Jackson ATC, Vicksburg, Rankin and Raymond campuses. I’m a National Board-Certified Counselor and hold a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (P-LPC) from Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors. I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jackson State University (Thee I Love), and I bring experience from working in crisis stabilization with youth facing mental health challenges. I’m passionate about helping others navigate emotional and mental distress, and in my free time, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, riding 4-wheelers, watching crime shows, and cruising to 90s R&B or Drake.
