Writing Center

The Writing Center is a free tutorial service for Hinds CC students. Working individually with students, staff members spend as much time as is necessary to diagnose and solve grammar and writing problems as well as assist students with higher-level composition issues.

All Hinds CC students, regardless of the subjects and class levels they are enrolled in, are invited to use the many resources available in the Writing Center. The ultimate goal of the Writing Center is to help students discover how to become independent, proficient writers.

We offer:

  • Tutoring by appointment or walk-in for Hinds CC students with writing assignments in any course or subject
  • Computers reserved for English students with required programs for English homework
  • Extra worksheets and handouts available for some common, troublesome topics
  • An excellent place to practice English skills or work on English assignments
