Cosmetology Instructor Training
Our Cosmetology Instructor Training program will prepare you for a career as a cosmetology instructor. It includes theory, methodology and techniques in hair cutting, styling, lectures, supervision, and office work. To be admitted, you must have completed the required six semester hours and have Mississippi Cosmetology Board approval.
If you’ve had at least two years of active practical experience as a licensed cosmetologist and currently hold a valid Mississippi cosmetology license, this curriculum is designed for you. Student instructors who do not have two years of active experience must have 1,000 hours plus the six semester hours.
If you’re looking for the place to start your career as a cosmetology instructor, you’ve found it. At Hinds Community College, you’ll get the experience you need to take your potential to the next level. The education and experience you’ll receive will last a lifetime, widen your options as your career moves forward, and help you train the next generation of cosmetologists. Upon completion of this course, you’ll be given a certificate which entitles you to take the State Cosmetology Examination for a license to become a licensed operator to operate your own shop or work with others.
