Clothing & Fashion Design Technology

About

Our program prepares you for entry-level occupations concerned with clothing and textiles services, including, but not limited to: construction, fabric design, fabric care, pattern design, principles of clothing construction and selection, fitting and alterations of ready-to-wear garments, custom tailoring, clothing maintenance, home furnishings, and textiles testing. Our program offers three options: a Career Certificate, a Technical Certificate, and an Associate of Applied Science Degree.

When most people read Clothing and Fashion Design, they immediately think of runways and fashion boutiques. While that’s part of the training you’ll receive at Hinds Community College, it’s only the beginning. The education and experience you’ll gain with textiles, fabrics, and alterations will prepare you to work in a multitude of fields across a variety of industries. Hinds CC is an excellent place to start your career or advance one already in progress.
