While you’re at Hinds, you can earn scholarship money from Hinds! Students enrolled in the Honors Program will earn $150 per semester, and this is in addition to other scholarships at Hinds. Students must earn an A or B grade in their Honors course and Honors Forum, and the scholarship is applied at the end of each semester.
Honors class + Honors Forum = $150 scholarship
Each additional Honors class = $50
Each Honors lab = $25
Maximum award = $300
When you finish your time in the Honors Program, you can graduate from Hinds decorated in regalia which will make you stand out on stage!
Honors Scholar graduates will have completed the following requirements:
Minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA on all courses
At least 12 hours of Honors courses completed with an A or B grade
At least two Honors Forum courses completed with an A or B grade
Honors Scholar Graduates
Honors Scholar graduates will be adorned with purple cords during graduation ceremonies, and “Honors Scholar” will be designated on their Hinds transcripts.
Distinguished Honors Scholar Graduates
Distinguished Honors Scholar graduates will have completed the following requirements:
Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on all courses
At least 18 hours of Honors courses completed with an A or B grade
At least three Honors Forum courses completed with an A or B grade
At least two leadership courses completed with an A or B grade
Distinguished Honors Scholar graduates will be adorned with purple cords and a medallion during graduation ceremonies, and “Distinguished Honors Scholar” will be designated on their Hinds transcripts.
