Associate Degree Nursing
Our Associate Degree in Nursing is a two-year program that prepares you as a generalist capable of providing competent, accountable client care in diverse settings. Major areas of emphasis encompass the following core components of nursing practice: professional behaviors, communication, assessment, clinical decision-making, caring interventions, teaching and learning, collaboration, and managing care.
This is a critical program for anyone looking for a career in nursing. It offers all the knowledge and skill building required for you to launch your career as a registered nurse, or if you’re looking to transfer from your career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), paramedic, or respiratory therapist. With this in mind, Hinds Community College offers two options for you to choose from: the Traditional Option and the Transition to RN Option.
- Nursing Allied Health Center
Traditional RN Option
Our traditional route, the Traditional Registered Nurse option, places students in four consecutive semesters of coursework.
Transition to RN Option
The Transition to RN option is designed to assist the licensed practical nurse (LPN), paramedic, and respiratory therapist in making the transition to registered professional nurse (RN).
Dr. George Ball Simulation Center
The Dr. George Ball Simulation Center is approximately 8,000 square feet including two medical surgical patient rooms, Emergency Room/Intensive Care/Operating Room with ambulance bay, clinic, home care lab, three control rooms, and four debriefing rooms.
