Jackson veteran who grows food for needy gets three degrees at Hinds CC

Hinds Community College graduate and veteran Alaina Broome, 54, of Jackson, will expand her nonprofit, Heavenly Gifts, which provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the food access-challenged, with the knowledge she gained pursuing degrees in agribusiness management technology and animal science technology. Broome plans to add chickens to her mini-farm and give away the organic eggs and poultry meat.
