Move-In Information & Guidelines

#HomeAtHinds… Where Your College Journey Begins!

Students will be able to register for a move-in appointment time slot in late July within their housing portal. During the signup, students may select from available dates and times for the centralized move-in process for their campus.

  • Please Note:
    • Students who do not have a confirmed move-in appointment or who arrive before their scheduled move-in time will NOT be permitted to move in. No exceptions will be made.

During move-in, students and families will be greeted and assisted by Housing and Residence Life staff, student leaders, volunteers, and Hinds Community College leadership. 4. Please limit move-in items to no more than two vehicles per student. Only one vehicle per resident will be permitted in designated unloading zones.

      6. #HomeAtHinds Questionnaire
Complete the #HomeAtHinds Community Questionnaire before move-in! Your responses will help us build a welcoming residence hall community where you can grow, connect, and succeed during your time on campus while helping our team better support your transition to residential life.

      7. Hinds CC strongly recommends that students and families purchase renter’s insurance coverage. Hinds Community College is not responsible for damage, theft, or loss of personal belongings. Renters insurance can help protect and replace covered items in the event of an accident or loss. Families who already have homeowner’s insurance should review their current policy, as some policies may include coverage for students living on campus. Additional renter’s insurance may also be purchased at a low monthly cost to provide extra coverage if needed.
