Vet Tech students recognized for excellence receive scholarships

On May 2, members of the Hinds Community College Veterinary Technology Program gathered in the Veterinary Technology building on Seven Springs Road for an awards ceremony and to wish retiree Dr. Kirby Sills a happy retirement.

Dr. Sills has been with Hinds for 13 years as a Veterinary Technology instructor. There were three students who were also recognized and awarded scholarships.

  • Kristen Nail – the Bobby Glenn Scholarship, which pays tuition for a summer internship.
  • First-year Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association Award – Madison Bullock.
  • Second-year MVMA Award – Alexis Thompson.
