Florence plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in computer engineering.

“The coronation ceremony was a symbol of empowerment,” said Florence, who serves as co-president of the Alpha Beta Xi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and as captain of the Robotics Club on campus. “This recognition has encouraged me to become a better student leader, friend, and most importantly an advocate for the students at the U.”

Harvin is studying business administration and also plans to earn a bachelor’s degree. She is a peer tutor, vice president of the PTK chapter and an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“Thank you to each and every person that took the time to invest in me,” Harvin said when each was crowned in October.

Vice President Sherry Franklin commended each for being the epitome of leadership for the college.

“Not only are they academic scholars who take pride in their positions as the face of the Utica Campus, but also they actively promote the mission of the college,” Franklin said.
