Honors Institute at Hinds CC Recognizes Scholars

The Honors Institute at Hinds Community College presented scholars with awards based on GPA, honors hours, and community service.

RAYMOND – Hinds Community College’s Honors Institute on the Raymond Campus presented graduates with awards of excellence for the 2023-24 academic year. Each named a faculty mentor, who received a certificate as an Honored Faculty Member during an April ceremony.

Honors Scholars carry 12 or more honors hours and must maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 or better, take two Honors Forum classes and have at least 20 hours of community service.

Distinguished Honors Scholars complete 18 or more honors hours and have two semesters in the Leadership Program. They must maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 or better, take three or more Honors Forum classes and have at least 30 hours of community service. Two students achieved this honor, Owen Harris of Raymond and James Honeycutt of Terry.
