Hinds CC students take top honors at DECA state conference

Nine students win medals at DECA state competition

PEARL – Nine students in the Hospitality/Tourism and Culinary Arts program at Hinds Community College’s Jackson Campus-Academic/Technical Center placed in the Collegiate DECA State Conference, held Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at JATC and at the Muse Center on the Rankin Campus.

First place: Rosie Harvey, of Bolton, Accounting; Krystal Love, Zachary Gressett and Justin Roberts, all of Brandon, Culinary Arts team

Second place: Jamie Carr, of Kosciusko, Travel and Tourism Management; Annelle Lacy, of Jackson, Restaurant/Foodservice Management

Third place: Victoria Ragsdale, of Jackson, Travel and Tourism Management

Fourth place: Brenda Holly, Restaurant/Foodservice Management; Sharon McAllister, Human Resources, both of Jackson
