RAYMOND – Hinds Community College will have four spring graduation ceremonies starting Wednesday, May 14 and continuing through Friday, May 16. Each ceremony will feature student speakers who have shown leadership and excellence in their fields of study.

Nursing and Allied Health (NAH) students will graduate in a 2 p.m. ceremony Wednesday, May 14 in the Clyde Muse Center on the Rankin Campus.

Students with last names beginning with A-I will graduate on Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at the Muse Center, and those with last names beginning with J-Z will graduate the same day at 2 p.m.

The Utica Campus has a separate ceremony. A Bell Tower ceremony preceding the Friday, May 16 graduation is at 9:30 a.m. on the Utica Campus. Graduation will follow at 10 a.m. in Boyd Gym.

The student speakers selected by their instructors and peers:

Adonia “Georgette” Turner, 55, of Clinton, will speak on behalf of fellow students in the NAH ceremony. After graduating from the nursing program, she will continue to help others from an ambulance and in the Emergency Department at a Jackson hospital.

Jaden McKinnis, 19, of Magee, will say the invocation and benediction for the NAH ceremony. Jaden is receiving an associate degree in business administration and will attend Jackson State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

Charles Murray, 21, of Jackson, will speak on behalf of fellow students at the 10 a.m. A-I ceremony on May 15. He studied criminal justice and will attend Jackson State University in the fall.

Jamiya Sharp, 20, of Kosciusko, will say the invocation and benediction at the 10 a.m. A-I ceremony on May 15. She attended the Raymond Campus and will transfer to the University of Mississippi to study dentistry.

Destiny Young, 20, of Raymond, will speak on behalf of fellow students at the 2 p.m. J-Z ceremony on May 15. She attended the Raymond Campus and will transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business.

D’Jaydyn Readus, 20, of Bolton, will say the invocation and benediction at the 2 p.m. J-Z ceremony on May 15. He attended the Raymond Campus and will transfer to Jackson State University in the fall.

Jaydia Morris, 19, of Madison, will speak on behalf of fellow students at the 10 a.m. Utica Campus ceremony on May 16. She is receiving an associate degree in business and will continue her education.

Zoe Griffin, 20, of Raymond, will say the invocation at the Utica Campus ceremony. She is receiving an associate degree in early childhood education and plans to transfer to a four-year university to continue her studies.

Da’Jnea Antoine, 20, of Grenada, will say the benediction at the Utica Campus ceremony. She is receiving an associate degree in applied science and a career certificate for radio and television. She will attend Tougaloo College.
