Preview Day: HBCUtica
The purpose of HBCUtica is to celebrate, support, and highlight the HBCU experience while fostering meaningful connections among students, campus resources, and the Utica Campus community. This event is designed to provide students with an engaging opportunity to learn more about campus life, student services, academic support, leadership opportunities, and the resources available to help them succeed at Hinds Community College.
HBCUtica will bring together students, faculty, staff, departments, student organizations, and campus partners in a welcoming and energetic environment. The event will focus on student engagement, campus pride, community building, and helping students feel connected to the Utica Campus. Through informational tables, activities, conversations, and opportunities for campus involvement, students will be encouraged to ask questions, build relationships, and take advantage of the support systems available to them.
This event also serves as an opportunity to foster a sense of belonging and celebrate the unique culture, history, and legacy of the Utica Campus. HBCUtica will help students feel seen, supported, and excited about their college experience while reinforcing the importance of connection, involvement, and student success.
