The tenth annual Hollingsworth Gospel Concert, which benefits the Robert Wallace Hollingsworth Family Law Enforcement Scholarship at Hinds Community College, will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 in Hogg Auditorium of Cain-Cochran Hall on the Raymond Campus.

The benefit concert was first started in 2004 to help raise funds for the Mike Hollingsworth, a Warren County Deputy Sherriff who was injured in the line of duty. The family saw such great success with the event that they decided to make it a tradition. Currently, all proceeds from the benefit go to the Hollingsworth Family Law Enforcement Scholarship, which ultimately helps a deserving Hinds student attend college.

The family’s scholarship is dedicated to five Hollingsworth men, all serving in some capacity in the field of law enforcement. The student receiving the scholarship must be majoring in criminal justice.

This year’s concert line-up includes the Born Again Quartet from Byram, Jack Hollingsworth from Utica, Gloryland Quartet from Brookhaven, Potter’s Clay Quartet from Houston and Carl Hollingsworth from Byram.

The concert is open to the public and the cost is donation only.
