Rankin Campus literary festival winners named

The festival is held each spring to encourage and support the pursuit of literary arts among Rankin County high school students and foster their interest in higher education.

Winners in the 2022 Hinds Community College Rankin Campus Literary Festival were named during a ceremony in April. Among first place winners were:

  • Kate Betts, of East Rankin Academy, for her essay Teaching the World to Embrace Our Differences
  • Jonathan Warren, of Pisgah High School, for his short story SCP-6151
  • Katie Boteler, of Florence High School, for her poem, Words Left Unsaid
