Determining the Validity of a High School Diploma

High School Diploma Validation Process

According to 34 CFR 668.16(p), institutions have a responsibility to evaluate the validity of a student’s high school completion when the institution or the U.S. Department of Education has reason to believe that the high school diploma is not valid or was not obtained from an entity that provides secondary school education.

Hinds Community College has established the following process for evaluating the validity of a student’s high school diploma:

Schools Not Currently Accepted for Admission

Through Hinds Community College’s high school diploma validation process, some high schools have been determined not to meet the College’s admission requirements. Diplomas issued by the schools listed below are not currently accepted for general admission to Hinds Community College. This determination applies regardless of whether the diploma holder previously attended Hinds Community College or another college or university.

Schools are reviewed as needed, and admission decisions are based on the information available at the time of review.
