Automotive Technology
About
The Automotive Technology program prepares students in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles. Our students receive the very best hands-on training and instruction in our labs with experienced faculty. In just one year, students may complete the Career Certificate and be ready for employment. Students also have the option to pursue a Technical Certificate and Associates of Applied Science Degree.
Areas of Specialty Training
Education and training includes the diagnosis of malfunctions of all eight areas of ASE/NATEF certification:
- Engine Repair
- Electrical and Electronic Systems
- Engine Performance
- Brakes
- Steering and Suspension Systems
- Manual Drive Trains and Axles,
- Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles
- Heating and Air Conditioning
Levels of Training Offered
The Automotive Technology program is an instructional program that prepares individuals to engage in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles. Instruction includes the diagnosis of malfunctions of all eight areas of ASE/NATEF certification (Engine Repair, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, Brakes, Steering and Suspension Systems, Manual Drive Trains and Axles, Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles, Heating and Air Conditioning).
ASE will become the new method of assessment for this program beginning Fall 2019.
