Dr. Olivia Boatman is currently the Woodwind Instructor and Assistant Band Director. Previously she taught at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS, West Music Conservatory in Coralville, IA, and the Mason’s School of Music in Tallahassee, FL.

Dr. Boatman holds a Doctor of Music in Performance from Florida State University with a Music Education and Leadership Certificate, a Master of Music from Arkansas State University and a Bachelor of Music Education from Mississippi State University with a K-12 MS educator license. She studied flute with Sophie Kershaw, Carol Dale, Lana Johns, Joe Bonner, and Eva Amsler.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Boatman has served as the US Sales Manager of lefreQue Sound Bridges and as a Band/Orchestra Consultant at West Music in Iowa. As a performer she has been a member of the Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra, Delta Symphony, FSU Symphony Orchestra, FSU Wind Orchestra, and a soloist with the Arkansas State University Wind Ensemble. She has performed and/or presented at the Florida Flute Association Convention, Music by Women Festival, Cornell College Flute Day, and the National Flute Association Convention.
