The Commercial Aviation program includes a 2-year Associates of Arts degree and a Private Pilot license. The student can transfer credits to other 4-year programs in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree and a Commercial Pilot License with an Instrument Rating. The articulation agreement between Hinds Community College and Delta State University is designed to facilitate such a transfer.
This program is located in the hangar facilities at John Bell Williams Airport which is owned and operated by Hinds Community College. The college owns several aircraft and items of simulation to support its training mission, and, it employs a staff of FAA certified instructors and technicians.
Students wishing to pursue the Commercial license and Instrument Rating without transferring to a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program may do so through the Commercial Aviation program and the Aviation Technology program.
