The Woodwind Studio at Hinds CC offers students the unique opportunity to study with Woodwind Specialist, Dr. Olivia Boatman. She is a graduate of Florida State University and master educator, performer and musician.

Vocal Study at Hinds CC is taught on a variety of levels based upon the needs and development of the student. Some students begin vocal studies in class voice and progress to private lessons as technical facility and musicianship develop.

Piano & Organ Studio
Program of Study

Class piano is designed to train beginning piano students with no previous piano background. This class is held in our Piano Lab using electronic keyboards and headphones. Emphasis is placed on reading music, developing technique, and performing piano repertoire.

Class guitar is designed for beginning guitar students who have never played, or students who already play but do not read music for guitar. This class emphasizes building a solid technical foundation for solo playing and learning to read music.
