Hinds CC students, faculty participate in health assessment fair

Ebony Fisher of Vicksburg, a student in the Surgical Technology program, and instructor Donna Sanders test the ability of Dr. Libby Mahaffey, dean, nursing and allied health programs for Hinds Community College, to wash her hands correctly. A powder was sprinkled on Mahaffey’s hands that shows up under a black light. Mahaffey washed her hands to see how much of the powder she was able to wash off.

Hinds Community College faculty and staff and students in nursing and allied health program at Jackson Campus-Nursing/Allied Health Center participated in a recent health fair.

Students were able to practice their skills while Hinds employees were screened for blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and other health concerns.
