DESCRIPTION:On October 28\, 2026\, Hinds Community College will host Session A of the MCCB/MDE Biannual CTE Collaboration Meetings at the Rankin Campus Career-Technical Education Center on Greenfield Road. Attendees will include secondary and postsecondary CTE deans and directors representing the East Central\, Hinds\, Holmes\, Meridian\, and Mississippi Delta community college regions. \nThe meeting will support collaboration among secondary schools\, community colleges\, workforce partners\, and industry representatives. Primary objectives include aligning secondary and postsecondary CTE programs with State Workforce Investment Board clusters\, integrating comprehensive regional needs assessments across Mississippi’s workforce development areas\, and coordinating curriculum development and updates to address regional workforce needs.

This event is designed to provide students with an engaging opportunity to learn more about campus life\, student services\, academic support\, leadership opportunities\, and the resources available to help them succeed at Hinds Community College. \nHBCUtica will bring together students\, faculty\, staff\, departments\, student organizations\, and campus partners in a welcoming and energetic environment. The event will focus on student engagement\, campus pride\, community building\, and helping students feel connected to the Utica Campus. Through informational tables\, activities\, conversations\, and opportunities for campus involvement\, students will be encouraged to ask questions\, build relationships\, and take advantage of the support systems available to them. \nThis event also serves as an opportunity to foster a sense of belonging and celebrate the unique culture\, history\, and legacy of the Utica Campus. HBCUtica will help students feel seen\, supported\, and excited about their college experience while reinforcing the importance of connection\, involvement\, and student success.
