Our Raymond campus New Student Orientation is a college experience guaranteed to help you get off to a good start at Hinds Community College. At Orientation you will:

  • Discover activities and services available to you as a student
  • Meet other students, faculty, and staff
  • Learn more about the financial aid process
  • Tour the campus

Before Attending

To get the most of out of Orientation and to register for classes, you will need to have the following completed before attending:

Orientation Fee

Orientation Student Fee is $50.00 per student which covers your night stay in the residence halls and meals. All Orientation fees are non-refundable. We encourage any incoming student to sign up and learn about the resources available to you.

Registering for Orientation

Sessions are available on a first come, first serve basis. Once a session is at capacity, no more students will be able to register for it. Please do not make travel arrangements until you register for your session and receive your confirmation with your orientation date and information.

Once you register for your two day New Orientation Session, you will receive an e-mail conformation. Please read the confirmation in full.

Is orientation for all students?
Orientation is only for students attending our Raymond campus.

Where is orientation held?
Orientation is held on the Raymond Campus. All students will check-in in the Cafeteria Atrium. Students will receive an e-mail with more.

Is orientation mandatory for students living on campus?
It is not mandatory, but highly highly encouraged. We hope you are attend an orientation session; if not, we will work to make sure you have everything you need.

Where do guardians/parents stay if they are accompanying a student?
Parents and Guardians will not stay on campus.parents have not stayed overnight. They will typically drop their student off during Day 1 of Orientation and pick them up at the end of Day 2. Specific times will also be sent in the e-mail so parents are aware.
