Choir Audition Information

All students with a love of singing are encouraged to enroll in the Collegiate Choir. Students interested in the Collegiate Choir should register for MUO 1211 RYAA; an initial audition is not required.  An individual hearing will be completed early in the semester. The collegiate choir meets Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday at 10 a.m.

Membership in either the Chamber Choir or the Clefs is by audition. Interested students will meet with the choir director and collaborative pianist. The student will sing to determine range, technical facility, and musicianship.

Students interested in the Chamber Choir should prepare a short solo piece (or a section thereof) for the audition. A hymn, art song, or choral solo are completely appropriate.
The Chamber Choir meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 - 10:45.  The Chamber Choir is auditioned each semester to fill vacancies. Contact the choir director if you have any additional questions.

Students interested in the Clefs will be provided with an audition piece in advance of the audition. The Clefs are auditioned the first week of school during the regular class meeting. The Clefs meets Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 - 3:15. Contact the choir director if you have any additional questions.

Membership in the Clefs is an annual commitment, but vacancies will be filled the first week of the semester if a member graduates in December.

Scholarships are available to all eligible students.
