The Jackson Campus offers a variety of academic courses needed in your first two years of college in order to pursue any bachelor’s degree. Students will save an average of $8,000 in tuition costs when they attend Hinds in their first two years before transferring to a public university! At Hinds, you can complete the 62 credit hours required to receive an Associate of Art Degree. In addition, we maintain a close relationship with Mississippi’s universities to ensure that your credits transfer. Career and Technical programs are designed to give you hands-on training and education to equip you with a skill set for a specific profession. These programs can be one - two years in length and result in either the Career Certificate, Technical Certificate, or Associate of Applied Science Degree:

When you are ready to register for classes for the upcoming semester, we invite you to visit with a Hinds Counselor on the Rankin Campus who will advise you and help you select the right courses. The Jackson Campus has activities that meet both the academic and the social needs of our students. We host fun activities throughout the semester such as Welcome Week, Spring Fever, cook-outs, guest speakers, competitions, and more.

The Jackson Campus offers comprehensive student services including Admissions, Counseling and Advising, Financial Aid, Business Office, ACCUPLACER testing, the Residual ACT, and online course proctored testing. Student Services offices are located in the Administrative Building.
In addition, we offer these support services:
The Jackson Campus provides a full service Math lab to accommodate students who are registered for any math course. We offer free tutoring services, proctored testing and computer access for homework assignments. Located in our Jobie Martin, Room 206, the lab is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 3:00pm (except holidays when the college is closed), as well as evening hours advertised per semester. The Early Childhood Education Center provides a healthy learning environment for infants through age four with half day, full day, or weekly rates. Priority is given to our Jackson campus students, faculty and staff; but if slots are still available, doors will then open to the community as well. For more questions, please contact 601.987.8127.
Stop by our Single Stop office for unique support services that will help meet your personal needs while you are pursing your college degree! Some of the FREE benefits screenings offered through Single Stop include assistance with foods stamps, Medicaid, housing, public assistance, social security, disability SSI, transportation, mental health care, domestic violence services, foster-care placement, food vouchers, debt solution, credit report, financial planning, maintaining small business, free tax preparation, and legal advice.
