STEM Program (for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math majors)

If you are a Hinds Community College student majoring in the fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics, you could be eligible to participate in the STEM program.  STEM is a federally funded program that encourages integrated learning among these disciplines.    STEM engages students and increases motivation with project-based learning, encourages students to solve authentic problems and asks them to work with others to  build real solutions.
STEM program participants receive:
• Monthly stipend of $100 during Fall and Spring terms; $500 during Summer terms
• Books and Supplies stipend of $500
• One on one mentoring by instructors in their chosen field
• Trips to local businesses in their field of study during the semester
• Personal advising by instructors in their field of study
• Summer enrichment programs
• Access to free math and science tutoring
• Full tuition and fees scholarships to complete bachelor degree
