Drafting & Design Technology

 

The Drafting and Design Technology Department at Hinds Community College offers several Associate of Applied Science degree options:

These programs of study are designed to provide specialized instruction utilizing computer-aided design techniques to allow the graduates a broad-based background in the drafting & design market. The student will take courses in architectural, civil and mechanical drafting. These programs prepare individuals for entry level employment assisting architects, engineers and contractors.

Requirements for Admissions

  • Application for Admissions

  • If applicant is under 21 years of age, the applicant must submit ACT scores with a minimum of 16 in Reading, 17 in Math and 17 in English.

  • Beginning freshmen, 21 years old or older who have not taken the ACT will be required to take a placement test before registering and have a minimum score of 72 in Reading, 48 in Math and a 71 in English.

Requirements for Graduation

  • Prior to graduation completion, students must take Freshman Orientation.

  • In order to receive degree, students must take the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System Exam) test prior to graduation.

Students must successfully complete all requirements for required semester hours and maintain a "C" or better in all DDT coursework.
