Announcement:

The Office of Student Housing and Residence Life, Raymond Campus, is proud to announce that our summer orientation leaders attended the SROW (Southern Regional Orientation Workshop) Conference at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia over the weekend and placed 2nd in the Skit Competition. This is the first time that Hinds Community College has won in any category at SROW.  This is a major accomplishment for our orientation leaders because SROW attracted nearly 2,200 students and professionals from more than 80 universities (such as UNC, Clemson, Florida State, USC, FIU, UA, Auburn, LSU, UT, Ole Miss, USM, FAMU, and more) in ten states and Hinds Community College was the only community college to attend and compete.  A special thank you goes to our summer orientation leaders for staying committed to the numerous practices and working so hard to accomplish this major achievement. Go Eagles!!

Welcome to Hinds Community College! We are so happy that you have chosen Hinds as your education destination, and we are delighted to have you as a resident of our residence hall community.

Residence halls play a vital role in retaining students, and statistics show that students who reside on campus are better prepared to succeed academically. Our residence halls are led by professional residence hall directors and a team of resident assistants eager to serve you. Please do not hesitate to contact them with any questions or concerns you may have.

The mission of the Office of Student Housing and Residence Life is to provide a living learning community that supports the institution’s mission and strives to develop the whole student by offering quality educational programs that motivate and inspire students to maximize their full potential. We achieve our mission by promoting education, healthy and smart lifestyle choices, community service, social tolerance, and respect. We also achieve our mission by providing a “home away from home” atmosphere so that our students can easily become acclimated to our campus and everything it has to offer.

Student Housing and Residence Life is in a unique position because we serve as the bridge between academics and extracurricular activities, and we use this opportunity to fully engage our students residing in our residence halls through various programs and events. Programs and events provide a wonderful opportunity for you to enhance your knowledge while also meeting and networking with others. We encourage you to get involved.

Please plan a visit to our Raymond and Utica campuses by contacting the Hinds Community College Recruiting office at 601.857.3767 or 1.800.HINDSCC.
