A free Sally Jayne rock concert Monday, Oct. 5, kicks off Homecoming on the Hinds Community College Raymond Campus. The 7 p.m. concert in Renfroe Stadium on the Raymond Campus is open to all Hinds students as well as the public.

It is sponsored by the Hinds Community College Student Activities committee and the Mississippi National Guard.  

There will be free popcorn for fans, as well as t-shirts shot into the stands and basketballs and footballs to be given away.

Sally Jayne, a popular Mississippi-grown “Southern Rock” band, consists of Marcos Rene Rogers (vocals/guitar), Tyler Thomas (lead guitar) Casey Adams (drums) and Erik Beall (bass). Beall is a Hinds CC alumnus.

The group won the 2004 Jagermeister Battle of the Bands hosted by Rock 93.9 in Jackson. In 2005 the Sally Jayne song “Feel” was the No. 1 requested song on 97.9 WCPR’s “Homegrown” show in Biloxi. “Feel” was selected from thousands by Quickstar Productions and placed on a National Compilation CD which is available on all digital distribution sites.
