Beginning March 2, all six Hinds Community College locations will host an information day for prospective students to learn about the college.
Five locations of the college district will host a Preview Night event this spring that will provide one-stop information to high school students, their parents and prospective nontraditional students. The Utica Campus will also continue to have its traditional Senior Day, which is aimed at high school seniors who are bused in from local schools.
The schedule for these events is:
- March 2 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Jackson Campus-Academic/Technical Center
- March 8 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Jackson Campus-Nursing/Allied Health Center
- March 9 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Rankin Campus
- March 23 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Vicksburg-Warren Campus
- March 26 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Utica Campus, Senior Day
- March 30 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Raymond Campus
For several years, the Raymond Campus has held a Preview Night. Last year, that expanded to the Rankin Campus as part of its 25-year anniversary celebration.
"Those events were so successful that the district decided to host a Preview Night on each campus," said Jackie Granberry, vice president for Institutional Advancement.
Each event will have its location’s own distinctive “personality” with programs and services unique to that campus.
All will offer the opportunity to get the same district-wide information about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, residence hall and student activities, as well as about the more than 170 academic, career and technical programs available throughout the district.
