Five  Hinds Community College students compete for the title of Miss Hinds Community College 2010 at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Hogg Auditorium in Cain-Cochran Hall. 

Miss Hinds Community College 2009, KeAirra Williams of Florence, will crown the winner. The winner of the pageant is eligible to compete in the Miss Mississippi pageant over the summer. 

The pageant is open to the public. Admission is $5. 

The five contestants include:

• Rachel Daniels, 20, of Byram, a Raymond Campus nursing student. Her platform is Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital and her talent is jazz dancing. 

• Alexis Jones, 20, of Vicksburg, a Raymond Campus student majoring in music. Her talent is singing and her platform is M.U.S.I.C. (Moving Underdeveloped Skills In Communities). 

• Nikki Lewis, 20, of Jackson. She’s a Raymond Campus student majoring in nursing. Her talent is jazz dancing, and her platform is CARA, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption. 

• Conesha Michael, 19, of Jackson, a Raymond Campus nursing student. Her platform is sex education. Her talent is singing and dancing. 

• Ashley Nowell, 20, of Clinton, a Raymond campus nursing student. Her talent is jazz dancing. Her platform is the Girl Scouts.
