Got questions? Hinds Community College's Rankin Campus has answers.
The Rankin Campus will have a one-hour informational session the first Tuesday of each month for traditional-age students, parents and adult learners to find out all about Hinds Community College and the Rankin Campus.
Getting extra training or a two-year degree can boost annual earning power.
According to EarnMyDegree.com, a person with some college earns an average $36,800 a year and a person with a two-year degree earns an average $38,200, compared to only $30,400 for a high school graduate.
"We on the Rankin Campus are excited to host this series of free informational nights to folks who are considering coming to college for the first time or coming back to college," said Michael Heindl, dean of student affairs for the Rankin Campus. "Shane Brown, our college's adult recruiter, will be leading these sessions alongside key instructors and administrators on the Rankin Campus. We invite all who are interested to come."
The first session will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 3.
The sessions will feature general information about the college and the Rankin Campus, including specific programs that lead to careers that pay well, how to enroll in college, what to expect in college and how to pay for college.
Attendees can get their own questions answered during a q-and-a at the end of the program.
Free refreshments and gifts will be offered for those attending.
The sessions will be in the administration classroom building (the building closest to Highway 80) at the Rankin Campus in Pearl. Take the Airport Road Exit off I-20 and head west toward Pearl. The campus is on the left.
