The annual Mississippi Afterburners radio-controlled jet rally will feature nearly 100 true-to-scale model jets filling the sky over the runway at Hinds Community College's John Bell Williams Airport 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Food and parking will be available, and admission is only $5 per car.
On Saturday, the fun extends to the town of Raymond for the 27th annual Raymond Country Fair.
A Cannonball Run (5K or 10K) and a Mini Ball 1-mile Fun Run will signal the start of the fair.
Run registration begins at 6:30 a.m. in front of Raymond Plaza, and the racers will take off at 8 a.m. The Fun Run will follow immediately.
The fair officially begins at 9 a.m., with more than 50 vendors set up around the Courthouse and Square, with quality arts and craftwork, great fair food and entertainment. A special children's activities section will be sponsored by Raymond Elementary School and pony rides will be supervised by Raymond Career-Technical FFA and 4H students and their sponsor.
