– The Gamma Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, based at Hinds Community College’s Raymond Campus, received a national award from Keep America Beautiful.
Barbara Dorr, executive director of Keep Mississippi Beautiful, presented the silver inscribed bowl to college representatives at national Phi Theta Kappa headquarters in Jackson.

The chapter was one of five organizations to receive a first place national award for litter prevention at the recent Keep America Beautiful national awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The Gamma Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society won the award because of an anti-litter campaign in the 2006-07 school year.
