The workshop is designed to help both K-12 and higher education math instructors increase retention rates and pass rates. The institute focuses on curriculum design, assessment, teaching and learning processes that improve student performance in developmental mathematics courses.

Each participating teacher will learn at least 15 best practices, ways to increase student performance in math and ways to manage levels of math students including highly at risk.  Teachers will also learn to facilitate an active math class and leave the workshop with strategies to use in teaching math.

The cost is $550 per person including registration, institute materials and continental breakfasts and lunches. A fee of $750 per person includes overnight accommodations at Eagle Ridge Conference Center. There is a discount for teams of three or more instructors.

Participants can receive 1.5 continuing education units for a $25 additional fee.
