Bassett to emcee Hinds beauty pageant

11/13/07 - Barbie Bassett, chief meteorologist for WLBT-Channel 3, will be master of ceremonies for the Hinds Community College Eagle Beauty Revue 7 p.m. Thursday at Cain-Cochran Hall's Hogg Auditorium on the Raymond Campus.

Admission for the pageant is $3.

Nearly 50 Hinds Community College women are vying to be selected as Hinds Community College Most Beautiful.

Bassett, an accomplished opera singer, ventriloquist, pianist and model, has a Master of Science degree with a concentration in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication from Mississippi College.

She is adjunct professor of communication at Mississippi College.

Bassett serves as a trustee for a number of organizations including Magnolia Speech School and Girl Scout Council of Middle Mississippi.
