11/01/07 - The Vicksburg Campus of Hinds Community College and the Work Investment Network (WIN) Job Center are hosting the "Starting Point 2007" education and career fair 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 10, at the Pemberton Square Mall in Vicksburg.

"Many people don't know about the various opportunities that are available to them. They assume that there are no alternate areas of education and training. This event is to give them the opportunity to take control of their lives," said Hinds Community College Educational Coordinator Erica Knox-Wilson.

Representatives from Hinds Community College and the WIN Mobile Unit will be on hand to talk to prospective students about job opportunities and training. Hinds recruiters will be available to discuss the more than 90 career and technical programs offered through Hinds Community College.

Job placement assistance will be available through the WIN Job Center Mobile Unit. Access to Warren County and statewide job opportunities will be provided to those visiting the mobile unit.

The military services, Mississippi Job Corps Center, the Hinds Jackson Campus-Nursing/Allied Health Center, Warren County Youth in Action, Transcending Borders Program, GED/Adult Basic Education programs and others will be available to speak with participants regarding services they have to offer.
