Hinds accepting applications for fall ACT scholarships
01/28/08 - Fall 2008 first-time college freshmen can turn their ACT college entrance exam scores into cash for college through a scholarship at Hinds Community College.
Hinds offers a range of scholarship opportunities for high ACT scores.
Students with a 29 and above composite qualify for a Presidential Scholarship that includes tuition, room and board.
Students with a 25 to 28 composite qualify for a Dean's Scholarship that covers tuition.
And students with a 21 to 24 composite qualify for a Faculty Scholarship that covers half-tuition.
ACT scholarship recipients must be full-time enrolled (12 semester hours) and maintain 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the end of each semester.
The time to apply is now. The priority deadline is March 1, but scholarships can be awarded as late as the first day of class, if money is available. All ACT scholarships are awarded on a first-come basis.
The application process is easy. Students can access a form for all Hinds scholarships here.
Packets should be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid, P.O. Box 1100, Raymond, Miss. 39154-1100.
