The Administration Office is located in the lower level of the Annex. Offices for the Dean for Nursing and Allied Health, the Assistant Dean for Nursing, and the Assistant Dean for Allied Health are located in this office suite.
Student Services Office
The Student Services office is located in Anderson Hall. Admission, cashier, and counseling services are provided in this office.
Transcripts/Verification of Enrollment
Transcripts on Demand or Transcript Forms. There is no charge for verification of enrollment.
See an admissions processor to make changes in personal information such as name, address, phone number or email address.
All registration fees, tuition, and other fees may be paid in the cashier’s office.
If you are interested in applying for one of our nursing or allied health programs, please visit the recruiter. The recruiter (PathFinder is located on the first floor of Anderson Hall.
Counselors assist students in academic advisement, educational planning, registration, individual counseling, and career planning. The counselors welcome students on a walk-in basis. Personal counseling is also available to Hinds students by “The Counseling Center”. Call 601.707.5023 for an appointment. The initial visit is free. Cost of follow up sessions is based on ability to pay.
The Student Navigator is available to work with students on issues related to program success, including academic and personal issues. The office for the student navigator is located on the 1st floor of Anderson Hall.
There is a representative available on the NAHC campus Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Student Services.
District Financial Aid Offices in Raymond are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday and until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays.
Books may be charged to the bookstore for the first two (2) weeks of school only.
Grant and loan check disbursements will be sent to the recipient’s home by the HCC Office of Financial Aid. Watch campus bulletin boards for the exact dates that checks will be mailed. NOTE: Check with the Office of Admissions to be sure that your address is correct.
Computer Learning Center
The Computer Learning Center is located in Anderson Hall in Rooms 1 and 2. Students may use the lab for computer assisted instruction that accompanies nursing and allied health programs. Tutorial programs are also available for student use.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Library maintains a collection of books computerized indexes, periodicals, and audiovisuals that pertain to the health professions. A current
Hinds Community College ID card is required for use of all materials.

Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Bookstore Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Additional hours including evening hours are scheduled during the first week of each semester.
A study hall is being prepared for student use. More information will be provided when the renovations are complete.
The office for continuing education is located in Anderson Hall, 1st floor, offices 11-B & C.
This office coordinates activities related to short-term courses, CPR, and health-related continuing education.
Short Term Courses
Short term courses at the Nursing/Allied Health Center include but are not limited to: Phlebotomy, Nursing Assistant, Unit Service Clerk, EMT Refresher, First Responder and Introduction to Medical Transcription.
Register for CPR classes in Student Services. Hinds Community College is a Training Center for the American Heart Association.
Student Identification Badges must be worn at all times at the N/AHC and all clinical sites. ID badges should be made in Student Services during the first two weeks of school.
The Nursing/Allied Health Center safety procedures are published in the Hinds Community College Student Handbook. Students should not leave valuables in their vehicles. A center safety committee monitors issues related to the safety of students and staff. Police officers are on campus to serve safety needs.
Parking Decals are required and may be purchased in Student Services. Tickets will be issued for no decals or illegal parking. Temporary decals may be issued for up to five days if a student finds it necessary to drive a car other than the one registered. Overflow parking is available at the National Guard Armory and the Hinds County Extension Center. Please be good neighbors by parking in spaces furthest away from their building. Cars parked on the street will be ticketed and/or towed by JPD.
Designated Smoking Areas
The Nursing/Allied Health Center is a smoke-free environment. Designated smoking areas are the smoking pavilion in the west parking lot and the north parking lot behind Anderson Hall. Smoking is not allowed in any other area of the campus.
Regular attendance is crucial for success in health care education. NAH programs adhere to stringent attendance policies. See NAH Student Manual and the course syllabus for specific program guidelines.
Students who fail a health program course are required to meet with the program chairperson/director to complete an exit interview.
Course Withdrawal Procedures
Withdrawal from a nursing and allied health program is a two-step process. If a student wants to withdraw from a single course, the student must initiate the process with the program chairperson by completing an exit interview form and course withdrawal form. The student must then see a counselor to complete the process.
Approved dates for withdrawal are published in the College catalog and will be strictly enforced. If all fees are paid and the student as not been dropped with an “F” for excessive absences, the withdrawal can be completed.
Repeating a Program
Students in health related programs must meet specific criteria for readmission into a Nursing/Allied Health Program. Readmission must be approved by the Readmission Committee. Requests for consideration should be made in writing. The procedure for readmission is available in the NAH Student Manual.
Dropping an Academic Course
This procedure applies to those students that are not currently enrolled in a nursing or allied health program. Currently, students must see a counselor in Student Services. If all fees are paid and the student has not been dropped with an “F” for excessive absences, the student will be given a single course withdrawal form to take to the instructor to be signed. The instructor will return the form to the appropriate office. Check catalog or class schedule book for drop dates. A new on-line withdrawal process will be implemented this semester.
Scholastic Probation and Suspension
Students must maintain at least a 1.75 GPA during any semester. Failure to do so will result in scholastic probation. Students placed on scholastic probation must enroll in EDU 1413, Improvement of Study. This course is designed to improve study habits and academic suspension must follow college policies and procedures regarding enrollment requirements. Questions or problems should first be discussed with the instructor. Issues not resolved by the instructor may be taken through the following channels: Chairperson, Assistant Dean, Dean, Nursing Allied Health Center Vice-President, and President.
