Retention Services
Beginning this fall, Hinds CC Faculty and Staff will have a new centralized student referral process available to them.  Referrals may be made by any Faculty or Staff member who has a concern about unusual attendance patterns and/or behavior (i.e. distracted in class), a lack of textbooks/supplies, or other circumstances which would cause this Faculty or Staff member to believe that this student might be at risk of withdrawing from a class or from the college entirely.

The intent of this referral process or "Early Intervention Referral" is to improve student retention but is in no way intended to replace individual personal counseling which might be needed.  The Office of Enrollment Services will serve as the point of contact for these referrals and will work with other offices, such as Counseling, Financial Aid, and Business Services to assist these students.

The faculty or staff member may refer the student to the Office of Enrollment Services by completing the Early Intervention Referral Form on-line or by personally contacting Louanne Langston, Retention Officer, by phone at 601.857.3749 or email.
