Theatre Arts
The Theatre Program offers experience in all facets of acting, make-up, scenery construction and other technical aspects of theatre. Typically the first theatre production of the year is scheduled for the middle of October. A second production is scheduled for the spring semester.
Directions to Brooks Theatre
The Brooks Theatre (red brick, rounded white front, six glass doors) is located in the center of the Raymond campus directly across the street from the football stadium. Parking is available in front of the theatre.
From Clinton - Take the Clinton-Raymond Road (about eight miles). When the road forks at the edge of Raymond, take the left fork to the college. This road is Hinds Boulevard. Take either street around the football stadium which will be on the right. Park in the large lot across from the football stadium. Brooks Theatre is located on the north end of this parking lot.
From Jackson - Take Highway 18 to Raymond (about 12 miles Take a right at the four-way stop on to Hinds Boulevard. There will be another four-way stop at Hinds Boulevard and Main Street. Stay on Hinds Boulevard. Turn left on Bill Oakes Drive. Park in the large lot across from the football stadium. Brooks Theatre is located on the north end of this parking lot.
Lendon Players
The Lendon Players is an organization created for students who are interested in dramatics and the theatre arts. Membership is open to all students. The purpose of the Lendon Players is to foster and develop skills and interests in the field of drama. Club members take part in the production of plays sponsored by the Department of Speech and Theatre. Ms. Alison Stafford is the sponsor of the Lendon Players.
