Mr. Fletcher is the conductor of Choral Activities and instructor of voice at Hinds Community College, Raymond Campus. After receiving a Bachelor's degree in music from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, he taught choral music for nine years at the junior and senior high levels near Chicago, Illinois, and Hartford City, Indiana. He received his Master of Music from Northern Illinois University prior to his appointment at Hinds. Mr. Fletcher has served as guest conductor and adjudicator in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, and Mississippi. His choirs have performed with the Mississippi Symphony, the Mississippi Opera, and the University of Southern Mississippi Symphony. In addition to many local concerts and state level ACDA conventions, Mr. Fletcher's choirs have sung in Mexico City, and in Major cities of Italy. He has worked under Margaret Hillis, Paul Christianson, and Egil Hovland. Mr. Fletcher is a member of ACDA, MCDA, TCDA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and NATS. Mr. Fletcher has pursued work toward a PhD at Southern Mississippi University.
As a vocal Instructor, Mr. Fletcher has had numerous students win finals in Classical, Broadway Theater and Avocational divisions of state and regional NATS competitions.
Mr. Fletcher also teaches Music History.
