The new 15,000 sq.ft. band hall will be complete July 2009. This new facility will house 3 rehearsal halls for percussion, wind ensemble and marching band. The building also contains 4 practice rooms, 5 faculty studios, colorguard dressing room and state of the art acoustic treatment for each hall. The marching band rehearsal hall will be used as a large ensemble recording studio as well as host the college’s marching band, concert band, indoor drumline and winterguard.
Hinds Community College Bands
Hinds Community College Bands are under the direction of Shane Sprayberry, Randy Mapes and Robert Cheesman. Band is one of the oldest and most popular student organizations on the Raymond Campus, with concert groups beginning in the 1930's and marching units being formed in the 1940's. The tradition and history of Hinds bands is based in quality and excellence.
Auditions
Auditions for the upcoming fall semester are typically held in January - May of that year.
