About Us
The Teacher Education Preparation Program (TEPP) proposes to broaden the spectrum of the education program. TEPP focuses on strengthening the teaching skills and general knowledge of students in teacher education and child care development technology. Additional services include providing professional development for beginning and veteran teachers, and teacher aides. The program overall goal is to encourage minority students to choose teaching as a career, to provide a comprehensive, flexible academic support service to prepare students to become quality teachers, and to provide professional development for those teaching in elementary and secondary education currently.

Key Components of TEPP's Comprehensive Development Plan
  • Increase the minority population pool in teacher education and other areas with an under-representation of African Americans.
  • Strengthen the existing general education program by offering seminars, special institutes and workshops on international issues and in geography.
  • Provide means by which students may acquire basic competencies in the use of computers and related information technology.
