Chair of the History, Political Science, and Philosophy Department, History Instructor, and Online Instructor
MS Hailey joined the Hinds Community College faculty in the fall of 2000. While at Hinds, she has taught American History, Western Civilization, World Civilization, African American History, and Introduction to Social Science. She became chair of the department in the fall of 2008.

Academic Credentials

  • B.A. in History from Jackson State University in 1985
  • M.A. in History from Ole Miss in 1986.
  • A.B. D in History from Ole Miss in 1989.
  • Attended the U.S. Military Academy on a Military History Fellowship in 1996.

Before coming to Hinds, MS Hailey taught at Jackson State University. MS Hailey has published numerous articles and book reviews.

While at
Hinds Community College, MS Hailey has served as Chair of the Raymond Faculty Council, Chair of the District Faculty Council, and Chair of the Pickett Grant Committee

She is an active member of the Southern Historical Association, the National Organization for Women, American Civil Liberties Union, and Common Cause.
She is an active member of Beth Israel Temple. She has 2 grown children and is expecting her 1st grandchild in the Spring of 2010.

Mr. Beech joined the faculty at
Hinds Community College in August 2008. He teaches American history, Western Civilization and World Civilization.

  • B. A. in History from University of Southern Mississippi in 2005
  • M.A. in History from University of Southern Mississippi in 2008

Before coming to Hinds Community College, Mr. Beech taught World Civilization II and World War II history for University of Southern Mississippi’s study-aboard program in Pontlevoy, France. Before becoming a historian and educator, Mr. Beech enjoyed a successful career in the U.S. Army before retiring in 2001. During his military career, his duties took him to many foreign countries, including Panama, Honduras, Columbia, Germany, South Korea, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Japan, and Thailand which fostered his love for learning about different societies.

In addition to travel, Mr. Beech’s favorite pastimes include spending time with his family, sailing, playing drums, and reading. He is married with three children.

Mr. Bobo joined the
Hinds Community College faculty in the Fall of 2000. He teaches America History, Western Civilization, World Civilization, and Principles of Social Science. His teaching and research interests include World War II, especially in the areas of technology and Air Power, World War I, and Modern U.S. history including Vietnam.

Dr. Cloyd joined the
Hinds Community College faculty in the fall of 2004. In that time, he has taught American History, Western Civilization, World Civilization, African American History, and a Special Problems class on the Civil War. He also teaches the Honors American History classes.

  • Ph.D. in History from Louisiana State University in 2005

In the spring of 2010, his book, Haunted by Atrocity: Civil War Prisons in American Memory will be published by LSU Press.

He currently serves on the Raymond Faculty Council.

Away from the office, his interests include running, yoga, playing with the family dogs, and spending way too much time following Notre Dame and LSU football. He also volunteers once a week at the Neighborhood Christian Centers in Jackson. He is married and expecting his first child in the spring of 2010.

Mr. Lee joined the
Hinds Community College faculty in the fall of 2007. He teaches American National Government, State and Local Government, Comparative Government, American History and Western Civilization I.

  • B.A. in Political Science from Mississippi State University in 1985
  • M.A. in Political Science from Mississippi State University in 2001
  • 48 Graduate hours in History from various schools.

Before teaching at Hinds Community College, Mr. Lee taught at Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

He is an active member of First Baptist Church Jackson-Madison Campus,
and enjoys walking, reading political and historical books, watching college football and westerns as well as relaxing at home with his family. He is married with three children.

Dr. Miles joined the
Hinds Community College faculty in the fall of 1992. She teaches American History, Western Civilization I, Principles of Social Science, and a Special Problems class on Women’s History Her interests include women’s history and women’s education.

  • B.S. in Social Science from Delta State University in 1979
  • M. A. in History from Delta State University in 1980
  • Certification in Supervision and Curriculum from Delta State University in 1984
  • Ph.D. in History from Mississippi State University in 2003.
  • Dr. Miles also teaches a Women’s Bible Study for the HCC Baptist Student Union and currently serves a Chairman of the Raymond Faculty Council, the Chair of the Pickett Grant Committee, and a member of the College Council.

Dr. Miles has published her Master’s Thesis and numerous articles and reviews.

Dr. Miles is an active member of the Southern Historical Association, the Southern Association of Women Historians, and the Mississippi Historical Society. She currently serves on the Membership Committee for the Southern Association of Women Historians.

Dr. Miles is an active member of First Baptist Church in Clinton where she serves as Baptist Women’s Coordinator for the night missions group. She also enjoys reading and going on mission trips. Her greatest joy in the last few years has been spending time with her grandsons. She is married with two grown children.

Philosophy Instructor and Sociology Instructor
Rev. Pridmore joined the
Hinds Community College faculty in the Fall of 2004. While at Hinds, he has taught Old Testament, New Testament, and Sociology. His primary academic interest is in the sociology of religion and disability.

  • A.A. S. in Liberal Arts from Woods College in 1991
  • B. A. in Sociology from Mississippi State University in 1993
  • M. Div. in Theology from Emory University in 1996
  • M. Phil in Sociology of Religion from Drew University in 2000
  • He will be completing his Ph.D. in Sociology of Religion from Drew University in December 2009.

Rev. Pridmore is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and has been teaching since 1999. He is actively involved in the American Academy of Religion and has published several articles and reviews.

Rev. Pridmore’s interest are reading, camping, and playing basketball. He is also involved with a number of boards and committees in the United Methodist Church including Mississippi Conference Board of Church and Society, Mississippi Conference Board of Ordained Ministry United Methodist National Task Force on Developmental Disabilities, and the Association of Physically Challenged Ministers of the United Methodist Church. He is married with two children.

  • Dr. Simpson taught at Louisiana College from 1975 until 2006. He currently serves on the Raymond Faculty Council.

Aside from studying and teaching history, Dr. Simpson enjoys reading, jogging, golf, sporting events of all kinds, and time spent with family and close friends. He is married and has one grown child.
