Assessment & Testing
Career Assessment
Career Assessment is an integral part of the career development and job search readiness process that can take place in groups or with individual clients. Numerous tests are available to provide individuals with information about themselves. These tests may be written or administered on computers. They generally fall into five categories:
- Interest inventories
- Values clarifications
- Aptitude and ability tests
- Personality inventories
- Learning style inventories
All assessments are available by appointment only. Please call (601) 857-3650 to arrange a time to meet with the assessment coordinator.
The Nursing Entrance Test (NET) is designed to provide an assessment of the nursing school applicant's math skills, reading, and critical thinking skills, test-taking skills, social interaction and stress levels, and learning styles. The NET is offered every Monday and Thursday with the exception of official HCC holidays. The cost of this test is $30.00 and should be payable to HCC. The fee is non-refundable and reserves a place for the originally scheduled test date only.
For additional information on the NET or admission to the Hinds Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program, contact the Nursing/Allied Health Center.
