Computer Science

The Computer Science Department is located on the first floor of Beemon Hall on the Raymond Campus. The department offers a variety of courses including Introduction to Computer Concepts, Microcomputer Applications, Computer Programming I with C++, Computer Programming II with C++, Computer Programming I with JAVA, Computer Programming II with JAVA and Visual Basic.

Discrete Structures and Data Structures courses are being developed. Several of these courses are also offered at the Rankin, Jackson, Utica and Vicksburg campuses. Please see the current class schedule guide for updated course offerings and locations.

Transferring To A Computer Science Program At A Four-Year Institution
Hinds Community College has an articulation agreement with each of the public four-year intuitions in Mississippi. Therefore, usually, most (if not all) of the courses that you take here at Hinds will transfer to the four-year institution of your choice.

The University of Mississippi, The University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi State University, Alcorn State University, Mississippi Valley State University and Jackson State University each offer bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science.
