Kaci Flaharty signs with Hinds softball
05/29/08 -  Kaci Flaharty of Vicksburg, a 2008 Vicksburg High School senior, has signed a softball scholarship with Hinds Community College for the 2008-2009 season.

Flaharty played a number of positions for the Lady Gators throughout her career, including catcher, pitcher and shortstop. The athletic Flaharty will play in the outfield this summer for the Eclipse, a summer league team coached by Ashleigh Hicks of South Panola High School.

Hicks is the head coach of the Lady Tigers, who have won the 5A fast-pitch state championship the past two seasons.

"Kaci is a speedy and versatile player who played all over the field at Vicksburg High," said Hinds coach Andy Lee. "She will bring a lot of athleticism and versatility to our team."

The Lady Eagles of Hinds finished the 2008 season with a 34-20 record, winning the Central division championship and finishing runner-up in the Region 23 softball tournament.
